One and a half years after the onset of the pandemic, the ss21 trends reflect life after lockdown. Smaller circles of influence, an absence catwalk shows, halted film production, as well as closed museums and art galleries caused the industry to reflect on concerns about  sustainability and over-production. As we are emerging into a post-pandemic world in 2021, the approach to fashion trends comes with a focus on optimism, versatility, comfort, and staying power.

On Saturday, at the Abu Dhabi Summer of Style event at The Galleria Al Maryah Island we discussed how to connect with ss21 trends in a modern way with Etoile La Boutique and Jimmy Choo. Editor-in-Chief, Alison Tay shared how to style the latest trends while shopping mindfully and with purpose. To find your starting point, ask yourself, how do you want your wardrobe to make you feel?

Candy Colours

Accessories in our favourite shades of pastels are a candy coloured treat for our eyes this season. Hues of mint greens, lavenders, and pinks dominate the ss21 trends. YAA YAA LONDON’s, founded by jewelry designer Yvonne, designs depict colourful gemstone jewellery that capture the beauty of semi-precious gemstones.

Cottagecore

This one is for the Bridgerton fans. Inspired by the English countryside and created with a feminine and romantic vision, cottagecore is a nod to florals, ruffles, and shabby chic. The NEEDLE & THREAD Lalabelle gown has a vintage vibe akin to your grandmother’s beloved china mixed with a nostalgic, agricultural twist. NEEDLE & THREAD was founded in 2013 by Hannah Coffin. The ultra-feminine brand seamlessly blends contemporary appeal and elegance.
