The HBO Max’s revival series of SATC has announced their newest cast member Sara Ramirez. The former Grey’s Anatomy’s star will be a series regular, playing the role of Che Diaz, a non-binary stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast where Carrie Bradshaw is a regular on. “Che is a big presence with a big heart whose outrageous sense of humour and progressive, human overview of gender roles has made them and their podcast very popular”, shares HBO.

Ramirez’s character isn’t too far from her personal beliefs as an award-winning activist. The role of Che Diaz’ will be the very first non-binary characters featured on SATC.

Michael Patrick King, the creator of SATC and producer at “And Just Like That..”, shared his thoughts on Sara joining the cast stating, “Everyone at ‘And Just Like That…‘ is beyond thrilled that a dynamically talented actor such as Sara Ramírez has joined the ‘Sex and the City’ family. Sara is a one-of-a-kind talent, equally at home with comedy and drama – and we feel excited and inspired to create this new character for the show.
