If there was any doubt that Paris Fashion Week would return to pre-pandemic magnitude, you’d be mistaken. Across nine days in the French city, editors, influencers and celebrities arrived in droves and from all over the globe for finally, in-person presentations at full capacity. On the runway Dior served futurism, Hermès opted for sex appeal. Loewe put on another dizzyingly surreal unveiling and for Valentino, pink (and lots of it) proved to be the new black.

The same could be said for the cobblestone streets where guest street style was unusually colourful for the pared-back Parisian aesthetic. Make no mistake, it was cold. But nothing could dampen the spirit of an influencer army in midriff-baring Miu Miu or Valentino’s teeny-weeny dresses and sky-high heels. Elsewhere, more sensible leather trench coats, crisp blazers and tailored slacks remained classic.

There was no shortage of A-listers either. A very pregnant Rihanna was fashionably late to Dior wearing near-lingerie while Kim Kardashian was quite literally taped into her Balenciaga look – the runway a stunning tribute to the current conflict in Ukraine.
