Marvel Entertainment has just released a new clip teasing the hotly anticipated Black Widow film, set to release in July. Starring Hollywood’s leading women, Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh, the small snippet promises an exciting experience and impressive stunt work.

The teaser shows a high-octane car chase through city streets with Natasha and Yelena delivering iconic and comedic banter which peppers every Marvel action scene.

Johansson will be reprising her role as Natasha Romanoff while Pugh (best known for her role in Little Women) will be joining her as the Russian spy, Yelena Belova. Yelena is the adoptive sister of Natasha from their days growing up in The Red Room – a top secret Soviet spy training program that turns young girls into deadly assassins. Part origin story, part spy-thriller, Black Widow is the latest fix in a string of Marvel cinematic universe releases in coming years.

Florence Pugh has spoken with Variety on creating the film she described the production as “one of the most bizarre, nuts, extravaganza experiences.”

“I think we’ve made something very raw and very painful and very beautiful and I think people are going to be really surprised by the outcome of a big action film having that much heart.”

Last month, it was revealed that both women endured pneumonia while filming and due to a tough schedule over four months were forced to work through the illness. “It was like being in the army,” director Cate Shortland said during an interview.

After 12 months of delays (the original release date was May 2020), Black Widow will finally release on July 8.
