Pearla, a Dubai-based contemporary luxury brand, has released it’s exclusive Ramadan collection called ‘Salam,’ translated to ‘peace’ in Arabic. The Emirati brand also collaborated with Tiffany & Co. to accessorise their exquisite kaftans, jalabiyas and more, just in time for Ramadan.

The concept for this collection is to spread love and peace into the world, depicted through flying birds that highlight the beauty and poise of a Pearla woman.  The bird is a symbol of light, companionship and tranquility.

The reasoning behind Pearla’s choice to go with Tiffany & Co.’s ‘Knot’ collection, is because the jewellery pieces are a symbol of the connection between people. Ramadan is a month of spirituality, religion and connection, where families grow closer together as they break their fast.

The Pearla designers created a variety of luxury designs, with a beautiful colour palate to showcase their own signature illustrations and unique prints, giving this collection a more-so personalised touch. The designers used a combination of 28 unique designs with different textiles such as cotton, silk and metallic fabrics.

In a statement, the designers of the ‘Salam’ collection, Hessa and Fatma Aljoker explained, “We are very proud of how far Pearla has come in such a short time. The brand has received a warm welcome with each consecutive collection and our customers really enjoy the style and versatility of the pieces that are crafted. The Salam collection for Ramadan is just as beautiful and commemorate the freedom and beauty associated with birds, flowers, and the arts. The brand has collaborated with Tiffany & Co. to complete its look and we are confident that we will receive a resounding response this time around as well. Jewellery and statement pieces add a glamourous touch to an outfit and with Tiffany & Co., we showcase which statement pieces would look perfect with an ensemble.”

The collection is meant to underline the important of the use of the five senses, which tend to be heightened throughout Ramadan. Pearla became the first Emirati brand to make Expo 2020 Dubai their personal photo studio, and chose to conduct the shoot in the Austrian Pavilion, which made the best use of the five senses. The cones used in the pavilion are inspired by Arabian wind towers, which led to Pearla utilising Moroccan carpets from the Moroccan pavilion, to add a touch of culture into their shoot.
