Following the torrential storms in the UAE a couple of weeks ago, which was classed as the “worst storm to hit the UAE in 75 years”, more heavy rain is expected, per the National Center of Meteorology.
Ahead of the storm, The National Emergency Crisis Disaster Management Authority issued a circular recommending all public sector and private sector employees work from home on Thursday and Friday due to the unstable weather conditions.
Schools are also encouraged to implement remote learning for the rest of the week.

Rain in the UAE: Storms expected
The NCM announced that heavy rainfall is expected to begin on Wednesday night moving into Thursday.
“[There will be] moderate to heavy rain in scattered areas with lightning and thunder at times, with the possibility of some hail, starting in the west on Wednesday night and extending over most regions of the country on Thursday,” the NCM stated, per state news agency WAM.
However, the upcoming rainfall is not expected to be as torrential as the storm that engulfed the UAE and other parts of the GCC in April.
