The Arabic Scroll
While the portrait posted for the Silver Jubilee on June 9, 2024, perfectly showcased Queen Rania’s grace, the tiara truly stole the spotlight.
A bit of history: the tiara was forged by jeweller Yan Sicard for Fred in 2005, specially commissioned and gifted to her by His Majesty King Abdullah II. The glittering piece includes 1,300 diamonds, a large pear-shaped drop weighing around 20 carats, and seven drop stones. What makes this tiara unique are the subtle engraved Arabic words translated as “Greatness for Allah.”

Featuring a triangular frame with a floral motif and an exaggerated pointed top, this diamond tiara has a distinct presence. Although its history is not much documented, the Queen has worn it in certain events over the years. It is notably remembered for its sparkling appearance at the state banquet hosted by Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh during a visit to Windsor Castle in November 2001. It was also passed down to Princess Iman during her nuptials in March 2023.

Diamonds aren’t the only precious stones in the Queen’s collection. The Emerald Ivy tiara, created by designer Solange Azagury-Partridge for Boucheron, features a saturated emerald hue in vine-like designs. Queen Rania dignified the all-green tiara with a golden traditional Lebanese dress during a royal banquet at the Swedish Royal Palace in Stockholm in October 2003.

The abstract diamond tiara, originally acquired in the 1970s as a gift to Queen Alia of Jordan by King Hussein, came with matching earrings and a bracelet.
After Queen Alia’s passing, it was inherited by her daughter Princess Haya, who has lent the sparkling tiara to Queen Rania on numerous occasions, such as the Coronation of King Abdullah in June 1999 and a gala dinner for a state visit to Spain at the Royal Palace of Madrid in October 1999.

The sleek Boucheron Bracelet tiara, often seen gracing Queen Rania and Princess Salma, is a versatile piece that can be worn as a tiara or a bracelet. Made in 2008 by Boucheron, it highlights an Arabic script in its design. This convertible diadem was first seen during a visit to Brunei in 2008 and again in 2009 during the 10th anniversary of His Majesty King Abdullah II’s succession to the throne.
