With October right around the corner, now is the time to be talking about breast cancer and doing all we can to raise awareness. Whether you know someone that was a victim of the life-threatening disease or you yourself are a survivor, breast cancer is a topic that should be on everyone’s mind. If you’re based in the UAE, here are some of the most exciting events that will take place this month that you can and should attend!

Pink It Now

Pink It Now is a breast cancer awareness campaign by Zulekha Healthcare Group, that hosts a campaign where women learn about early detection, receive complimentary consultations as well as diagnostic tests. This year, the initiative will be hosting their 10th campaign at The Oberoi Hotel Business Bay in Dubai, on Monday fourth of October. The ambassador of the event is a breast cancer survivor herself, Dr. Pamela Munster, and she will be attending herself.

Buddha Bar

The fabulous bar is known for their boozy brunches and eclectic atmosphere, but this Friday their saying goodbye to their brunches for the season with one last hurrah – dedicated to Pinktober. According to them, a significant percentage of their proceeds from the day will be given to Al Jalila Foundation in aid of breast cancer. What’s better than a boozy-brunch? A boozy-brunch with a cause!

Ritz Carlton Jumeirah Beach Road

The Ritz Carlton is another brand supporting Al Jalila Foundation, in partnership with Brest Friends this month, with the launch of #PINKtober. The campaign will take place in their JBR branch and will last the entire month. The aim is to raise funds and awareness to breast cancer. Different events include a pink edition of The London Social’s Friday brunch, an afternoon tea at the lobby lounge and oxygen facials at the spa. A portion of sales from all the events taking place will be donated to support breast cancer awareness and patients.
