Breast cancer claims the lives of many women from around the world every year. With an estimate of over 2.3 million, the disease has surpassed lung cancer in being the most commonly diagnosed form of cancer. In order to raise awareness and break the taboos surrounding this life-threatening disease, major breast cancer charity organisations run an annual campaign aimed at gathering the necessary funds and sharing important information to prevent the spread of the disease. The fashion industry is painted pink this month as a large number of brands have stepped up to support the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Here’s a list of our favourite initiatives.

Arqa Jewellery

The Emirati jewellery brand, Arqa Jewellery, has teamed up with Pink Caravan to launch a limited edition bracelet in order to support the cause behind Pinktober. “To champion Pinktober we wanted to design a limited-edition bracelet to show our love and support by doing our part and create awareness of the cause. Our aim is always to make every woman feel magnificent. The exquisite bracelet features intricate craftsmanship with an enchanting heart shaped pink stone carefully curated in a way to unleash the sparkle of the gems with every glance,“ says Aisha Rashid, founder of Arqa Jewellery.

Jimmy Choo and BCRF launched a collaborative initiative back in 2020 with a vision to raise funds that facilitates research for breast cancer awareness. To continue extending their support to BCRF during this year’s campaign, Jimmy Choo will be donating 20 percent of the total price for each item in its BCRF collection this October.
