Over the past few days, a video of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson has been making the rounds on social media after fans deemed the SKIMS founder “bossy” for telling her comedian boyfriend to remove the second hat from atop his head (seems like a reasonable request to me) as they were filming BTS content ahead of the Met Gala.

In the clip, Kardashian tells Davidson to “take the double hat off,” to which he replies, “I didn’t know where to put my hat.” Gesturing to an assistant while laughing, Kardashian says, “She’ll hold it, just in case, because if it works and we want to use this somewhere. Just if I want to post any behind-the-scenes.”

“Oh, you don’t want me to have a double hat? I appreciate that. Thank you,” Davidson responds with a smile, to which his girlfriend says, “I’m just looking out for you.” “No, it’s cool” Davidson responds while handing the hat over to someone and adding, “Thank you, man. This hat caused a lot of trouble.”

Of course, anyone who watches the video can see the pair are just having a bit of fun, which, it turns out, is exactly how Davidon views fashion as a whole.

In a new interview with GQ to mark his collaboration with H&M, the SNL star opened up about his relationship with clothes and his style identity, revealing his “motto is just to wear whatever makes you feel good.”

“It’s that simple,” he continued. “If you think want to wear it and you feel good in it, then wear it.  When someone would describe my style as “Scumbro”, I’d say, “you just called me a Scumbro how do you think I feel.”

“My relationship with fashion is easygoing,” Davidson added. “I don’t overthink things, have fun, be cool and comfortable.”

This relaxed aesthetic has clearly influenced Kardashian, who, though she continues to wear high fashion looks and a lot of Balenciaga, has begun to experiment with more low-key styles and post more candid photos, including one of her wearing her bf’s track pants.

This is, of course, a welcome attitude change to Kardashian’s last partner, one who infamously threw out all her clothes at the beginning of their relationship, told her her career “was over” when she began self–styling after their divorce, and who compared one of her looks to that of Marge Simpson.
