MANAL MUFFIN TRIES HUDA BEAUTY’S POWER BULLET LIPSTICKS

Dubai-based Manal Muffin (who we quickly established does not come from a long line of bakers), was quite possibly the perfect candidate to road test some of the most anticipated new lipsticks to hit the beauty world – Huda’s Power Bullets.

The beauty blogger tells us it all started when she didn’t know what to do with a giant bag of make-up that she received after one of Huda Katan’s masterclasses. “I just got out my iPhone and started filming everything,” she giggles. Fast forward two years and her stratospheric trajectory has seen her amass over 500,000 followers on Instagram and another 42,000 on YouTube. Oh, and did we mention she’s only 21?

Manal joined Digital Editor Olivia Phillips in the back of the Careem to try out the new Power Bullets – and with a tagline of “Lipstick as powerful as you are” and the promise of “explosive, one-stroke application,” were expecting a seriously unparalleled pay-off.

Was that the case? Well… yes, you can’t argue with the pigment, although one stroke may be a slight overstatement if you want a truly flawless finish. For a matte lipstick, however, the comfort was pretty impressive (the formula contains almond oil which means no unwanted flaking), but what we find with Huda’s lip products is that they’re always a touch darker than promised. Still, fangirls (Manal included) won’t be disappointed – this is a great matte for those of us who love our lipstick to really pack a punch. Power Bullet by name and certainly by nature.
