Maison Rabih Kayrouz is embracing the importance of getting back to basics.

Last night, the Lebanese designer made his runway debut at Paris Fashion Week, aiming to create a sense of ‘cosy classics’ for September 2022. Kayrouz focused on resolving the current dilemma between style and comfort, and the result did not disappoint.

Historically, designers and big houses have been known to go big with their Spring collections through extravagant locations around the globe, but Kayrouz transported his viewers to the world of minimalism and ease, highlighting everyday denim, relaxed fits, and playful dressing with his new and improved silhouettes in the city of lights.

Within his collection, we saw unique shades of metallic gold, off-white, sky blue, yellow, and everyday navy, along with playful silhouettes showcasing an easy approach to everyday dressing. We saw off the shoulder tops, everyday denim and coordinated sets. Some may say his collection was plain or dull, but that is far from the truth. Instead, he elevated classic shapes with elegant materials, including ribbed and weightless polyester showcasing the real-life wearability versus the bombast we see on the runway.

With the current state of the world, the collection took on a tranditionalism, not only presenting everyday life in a more timeless style, but it allowed its viewers to enjoy the familiar designs in a new way.
