Louis Vuitton has just introduced its biggest handbag launch of 2023 and its an ode to creative director Nicolas Ghesquière’s start at the luxury fashion house.

Enter the Louis Vuitton GO-14 (or formally the as the Ghesquière October 2014). It first debuted on the runway back in 2014, hence its name, as one of Ghesquière’s first designs. Now, nearly 10 years later, its been reimagined, no doubt to become one of the ‘It bags’ for the upcoming FW23 season.

The re-edition of the bag features a distinct characteristic: the malletage pattern. Inspired by the lining of classic Louis Vuitton trunks, the bag, which has a padded exterior, features the crisscross pattern, as an ode to the code of Louis Vuitton. “There are some universal codes that exist solely in Louis Vuitton. It was about reappropriating and transposing them into a new setting,” Ghesquière himself noted.

Available in a variety of different colourways, the creation of the bag is an ode to the Maison’s craftsmanship, with over 20 steps involved in the process.

The GO-14 bag, despite launching just last week, has already received the A-list stamp of approval from Emma Stone, who actually appeared in the campaign for the new It bag, and Cate Blanchett, who was seen out wearing the white colourway.
