Kim Kardashian took to the streets of New York ahead of the Met Gala in a daring black leather Balenciaga look by Demna Gvasalia. The reality TV star was covered from head to toe, quite literally, and showed not even an inch of skin. The day after, she showed up to the Met Gala in another almost identical look, also by Balenciaga. Kim Petras also took to Instagram to share her recent VMAs look, which saw her in a Richard Quinn dress and a latex face mask. Are these celebrities taking covid-19 prevention to the next level or is this a trend to watch out for?

This wasn’t the first time that Kardashian showed up in a fearless look. The mother of four wore a similar look to her estranged husband, Kanye West’s DONDA listening event last month. Her fit was also designed by none other than Balenciaga.

The ski-mask has been worn by several other A-list celebs including Beyonce in a Louis Vuitton mask back in 2013, and Frank Ocean at the 2013 Met Gala. Even more recently, Justin Bieber gave a surprise performance at this year’s Met Gala wearing a ski-mask. What is it about covering your entire face that celebrities are obsessed with?

Perhaps it’s the mystery of not knowing who is behind the mask, or maybe it’s really just a trend. Either way, the internet seems to have a lot to say about the trend and the most recent looks by Kim Kardashian and Kim Petras. Scroll down to see the best Tweets on the looks yet.
