With Covid cases once again on the rise around the world, many events over the festive period were scaled back to avoid the spread of the Omicron variant. The Kardashian’s annual Christmas Eve party was no exception. For the second year in a row, the family’s traditional gettogether, which they’ve been organising since 1978, looked likely to be cancelled. But instead of canning the entire gathering, ultimate host Kris Jenner opted instead to scale it back, ditching the planned party venue and long celebrity-filled guest list and instead hosting an intimate family dinner—with the addition of Santa Claus—at home.

Of course, it’s the Kardashians we’re talking about here, and at home or not this family is going to pull out all the stops on the eve of one of their favourite holidays. While Khloe Kardashian matched with her daughter True in a sparkly silver gown, Kim Kardashian wore top-to-toe Balenciaga, of course—she’s basically a walking Balenciaga billboard at this point.

Ditching the usual festive colour palette of red, green and blue, the lawyer-to-be’s look was instead a custom-made chocolate-coloured gown, comprising of a ruched long-sleeved dress with gloves and the brand’s signature knife boots made to go all the way up her leg.

Kardashian and Kanye West’s children seemingly split their outfit inspiration between their parents with North and Chicago were dressing in bubblegum-pink ensembles, reminiscent of their mum’s Balenciaga crushed velvet bodysuit, which she wore to host Saturday Night Live earlier on in the year and Saint and Psalm dressing very Yeezy in all-black looks. Their model aunty Kendall Jenner opted for all-black too, wearing a gown that wouldn’t be amiss on the Met Gala red carpet.

As for whether Pete Davidson’s name made it to the shortlist after the party was culled? Despite Not Skinny But Not Fat podcaster Amanda Hirsch sending the internet into a spiral after she pointed out an unidentified woman in the background of one of Khloé’s posts looked a lot like Davidson’s mum, it was later confirmed the person was, in fact, one of the party’s planners. Davidson can’t be seen in any of Kim’s posts, either, despite definitely being in the area in the days leading up to Christmas. (He was photographed driving her car around Beverly Hills on Christmas Eve and then out for lunch with her on Boxing Day).

It appears Davidson’s cull from the event is for a specific reason: he hasn’t met Kardashian’s four children yet. “Kim is celebrating Christmas with the kids and won’t see Pete,” a source told People right before Christmas.

Also not at the event was West, who’s been publicly trying to win his ex-wife back and who most recently bought a house literally right across the road from her. Ah, that Hulu show can’t come soon enough.
