Keke Palmer is officially a mum.
Over the weekend, the actress and her partner Darius Jackson gave birth to their first child, a son named Leodis “Leo” Andrellton Jackson, news Palmer shared with the world via Instagram on Monday.
“Hey Son!!!!” Palmer wrote, alongside a gallery of images showing her and Jackson’s first 48 hours as a family of three. Included was a photo of the new parents gazing down at their little boy lying on his mum’s chest in the hospital bed and a selfie of them in the car to mark “Only 48hrs of being parents! 😳”
“Born during Black History Month, with a name to match!” the Hustlers actress wrote, revealing her son’s name: “LEODIS ANDRELLTON JACKSON, welcome to the world baby Leo.”
Palmer also shared a video of herself singing in the car as Jackson drives, writing, “Darius always made me playlists when we first started dating, “Someone” by El Debarge was a favourite. We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God! 😆”
Later in the gallery, Palmer shared close-up photos of her newborn’s face, joking that she planned to hide him from the public. “‘I’m not hiding the world from my son, I’m hiding my son from the world.’ Hahaha,” she wrote, adding, “I’m just playing, my baby face is on this slide … And this slide.”
Palmer first confirmed she was pregnant in December while she was hosting Saturday Night Live.
During her opening monologue, the Nope actress said, “There are some rumours going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I wanna set the record straight — I am!”
Palmer then unbuttoned her long jacket to reveal her baby bump, calling it the “biggest blessing.”
