If there’s one thing Jacquemus does best, it’s viral marketing. Creating a hype for their latest products and collections seems to come easy for the French fashion label.
This time, the digitally-savvy, trend-setting brand is once again causing a buzz online with their latest upcoming collaboration with Nike.
On Wednesday, Jacquemus posted a picture to their official Instagram account, showcasing a handbag in the shape of the athletic retailer’s iconic ‘swoosh’ logo. “< Le Sac Swoosh > This Monday” read the caption on Instagram.
The campaign image, which features the arm and hand of an unknown star holding the leather bag, caused fashion lovers to speculate as to who the face of the collection might be.
The IG caption also prompted users to “guess the face” of the campaign. Eagle-eyed fans were quick recognise the distinctive tattoos and long nails as belonging to US track and field sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson. However, Jacquemus has yet to confirm whether the athlete – and effortlessly cool style icon – is featured in the campaign.
The collection, which launches globally on Monday, marks a continuation of the brands’ collaborative journey, having previously partnered together for the SS23 season.
The hotly-anticipated line of sneakers, tennis skirts and summer bucket hats sold out in minutes – and their imminent SS24 collection looks to be no different.
According to Jacquemus’ website, the collection will comprise a range of T-shirts, pants, hoodies, and accessories, as well as a Jacquemus version of Nike’s signature Air Force 1 sneaker.
Also seen on the website is the Swoosh bag available in black, white, and hot pink colourways.
Known for their forward-thinking, playful designs, this isn’t the first time the brand has made headlines for a bag (the iconic Le Chiquito or Le Bambino come to mind), but Le Sac Swoosh is definitely on our must-have list for the season.
