Huda Kattan: We wanted to cater to all needs, everyone has different lashes, different moods and different makeup styles. I still love our LEGIT Lashes Mascara, but a lot of people told us it took a long time to get their desired look with both brushes. Huda Beauty 1 Coat WOW! is the embodiment of immediate results! Huda Kattan: I wouldn’t necessarily recommend layering it because honestly, you won’t need to. GRAZIA: What’s your top mascara application tip?
Huda Kattan: Before you start applying mascara, especially a brand-new mascara, don’t forget to give your wand a quick wipe on a tissue. This helps remove excess formula and prevents clumping. As you use your mascara with time, this won’t be necessary, but this is something I do every time I open a new tube. Another one would be to pay special attention to the base of your lashes while applying mascara and wiggle the wand up. It creates an illusion of fullness at the base of your lashes and gives you that intense volume.
GRAZIA: What other ways do you keep your lashes looking luscious?
Huda Kattan: I’ve always been obsessed with lashes, mine used to be terrible. Healthy lashes are extremely important to me, and mine have improved so much over time because I use a lot of lash serums; I swear they can easily give you the same effect false lashes do. I also love a good home remedy and have been using castor oil on my lashes and in my brows for years – I’ve probably ranted about this 100 times!
GRAZIA: What’s the biggest mistake people make with their mascara?
Huda Kattan: Letting their mascara dry between coats. This is not a tip that is needed with Huda Beauty 1 Coat WOW! since it delivers everything you need in one coat! But whatever mascara you’re using, it’s better for the formula to be wet between coats, so you can brush through it and continue to spread it evenly on the lash, otherwise the lashes can look clumpy.
GRAZIA: What was the biggest challenge you faced creating this mascara?
Huda Kattan: LEGIT Lashes was such a big hit for us, and after creating a mascara with two brushes for a professional lash look, we didn’t want to settle on it. The process of creating a single-wand mascara that would be as good as LEGIT Lashes, yet give our beauty community something different, took a lot of time, effort and research. But with the help of my amazing team, we did it, and Huda Beauty 1 Coat WOW! is the result of everyone’s hard work.
