E! People’s Choice Awards just released a new category for Middle Eastern Social Media Star of 2021, and we couldn’t be more excited to see some of our favourite stars nominated for the award. It’s about time the world started to shed a light on our region, which is filled with outstanding talent and creatives. One of our all-time favourite influencers, Alanoud Badr, or who you may know as ‘Fozaza,’ is one of the lucky contenders for the award, and you have the chance to vote for her.

We chatted with the Saudi brand owner and influencer on what the nomination and award means to her, so keep scrolling to find out why Fozaza deserves your vote!

There’s no denying that Alanoud would love to win, but she expresses that regardless who wins the title it’s still an accomplishment for the Middle East, “I’m honestly and genuinely still trying to digest it all. It came as such a sweet surprise. I’m so grateful and honoured because it’s not only an important category to be in for me but it’s the first of its kind for them, and I really appreciate the recognition towards the Middle Eastern social media stars whether it was me or anyone from the region. It makes me so proud.”

If you’ve been following Fozaza from her early days, you’d know that her journey on social media in fact started with her brand Lady Fozaza years ago. “I actually never decided to become a social media influencer, it’s the people who have chosen me to be part of their lives on social media and I’m so grateful for the title. I first came into instagram for my brand, not myself, until people slowly turned me into one, and the rest is history.”

It can be difficult being under the public eye, and some may say that it tests some of your truest values and beliefs. So, we asked the Saudi star what her most important value is, “Humility. I will always be me. No matter what. I’m not into fame. I’m into changing lives, making a difference, helping, connecting and reaching out.”

Alanoud has a special message for all of her fans, “Thank you for loving me, believing in me and being part of my life. I’m forever grateful and I promise to always be there for you in return through posts/experiences that might change your lives somehow like it changed mine.”

We also asked her what winning this award would mean to her, and her response was as touching as ever. “It would mean the world because I don’t look at it as my win. I look at it as an opportunity for many Middle Eastern personalities to come forward and be seen because I will be dedicating this award to all of them. I didn’t get to who I am without them.”

The voting window will begin 27 October and run through 17 November, on http://www.votepca.com/me or Twitter. Tune into the People’s Choice Awards on December 8 at 3:00am KSA exclusively on E!, via the region’s leading entertainment network, OSN Streaming, from December 9 at 12:00am KSA.
