The Miu Miu micro skirt has seen many iterations since it was first sent down the runway and one year later it still reigns supreme. Miuccia Prada unveiled Spring/Summer 2023 at Paris Fashion Week overnight and presented a utilitarian take on the rising hemline by way of FKA Twigs, who made her runway debut for the French fashion house.
Amid flippy pleated skirts and teeny tiny crops Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, was dressed in something a little more classic – and entirely unlike the English singer – with a white tailored shirt paired underneath a navy cable knit sweater. It was paired with a silky black micro skirt with huge pockets hanging from the waistline.
If Miu Miu ballet flats are the footwear of the season then be prepared for a boot-thong hybrid in the coming months. She was joined by the likes of Emily Ratajkowski and Bella Hadid who also walked the runway overnight. The front row was also fuelled by well-dressed A-listers including Alexa Chung, Camille Razat, Chloe Bailey and Keke Palmer.
Barnett is no stranger to the fashion scene. She performed on the Valentino runway for Pierpaolo Piccoli’s menswear Fall/Winter 2020 collection. The creative has also sat front row at past Versace runway presentations and appeared in a campaign for Burberry.
Her most recent appearance comes after the singer accused her ex Shia LaBeouf of harrowing abuse during their relationship which left her with PTSD.
