There are clubs that claim to be exclusive, then there are those that count Charles Dickens among the founders, and the likes of English novelist and poet Rudyard Kipling, French sculptor Auguste Rodin, and Impressionist painters Edgar Degas and Claude Monet as members. Enter The Arts Club which opened in 1863 on Dover Street in London’s Mayfair as a celebration of the Arts, Sciences and Literature, which is planning to launch its first international outpost in Dubai at the end of 2020.

With modern-day members and guests including Gwyneth Paltrow, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Jay Z,  The Arts Club Dubai is hoping to build an equally diverse and dynamic community, with Sybel Vazquez, Head of Cultural Programming, designing a calendar of events which includes talks, current debates, tastings, exhibitions, studio tours, trips, workshops, cabarets, panel discussions, music and dance.

Opening in ICD Brookfield Place, a new development in DIFC, the four-storey members’ club will boast: three restaurants – including the much loved Brasserie from London and two new home-grown concepts plus its own in-house pâtisserie; a library; a rooftop terrace; a cigar lounge with private cigar cabanas; four meeting spaces and private dining rooms and five lounges; and a blank-canvas event space.

The Grazia girls will see you in the library.
