Finally, over 12 months since we last spotted Harry Styles and Emma Corrin filming on set for Amazon’s romantic drama My Policeman, we have received a first look at the film. Based on the 2012 novel of the same name and directed by Michael Grandage, it follows a policeman Tom Burgess (Styles) who is gay, in a 1950’s society that deems it illegal. He begins dating a school teacher named Marion (Corrin) while also partaking in an affair with museum curator, Patrick Hazelwood (David Dawson).

The drama is just Styles’ third film to be released after making his acting debut for Dunkirk in 2017. In an interview with Vanity Fairdirector Grandage recalled how eager the pop star was to be involved. “He had read the script so many times that he knew every single beat of it at that meeting. I found that incredibly impressive. He knew other people’s lines; he knew all of his lines. He knew why he wanted to talk about it, why one scene worked this way and another worked another way,” he said.

According to earlier reports, Styles and Dawson are set to appear in a steamy sex scene. “He always wants to do things that people wouldn’t expect and challenge what people think about him — and this film will really do that,” a source told The Sun in April 2021.

The film will receive a theatrical release from October 21, 2022, and will later be released to Amazon Prime from November 4, 2022. It will arrive just one month after Styles other film, Don’t Worry Darling with Florence Pugh, is released. As for Corrin, this will be her first major role since starring as Princess Diana in The Crown.

Stay tuned for an incoming trailer.
