Fashion Trust Arabia was established with HH Sheikha Moza Bint Nasser serving as honorary chair in September 2018 with Tania Fares and HE Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad Al-Thani serving as co-chairs.

Eveningwear, Accessories(Shoes/Bags), Jewellery(Fine /Fashion) Ready-to-Wear, Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award  (2021-2023 graduates) and Guest Country Award are the six categories of the awards.

A one-year mentoring program is given by FTA’s retail partners and a global network of industry professionals tailored to each category’s winners based on their brand goals along with grants ranging from $100,000 to $200,000. The collections of the winning designers will also be available on the retail platforms of FTA’s worldwide partners.  The Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award winner will receive a $25,000 grant to help jumpstart their businesses along with tailored mentorship from industry figures and partners.

The FTA prize 2022 winners were Artsi Ifrach of Maison ARTC (eveningwear), Eilaf Osman (accessories), Fatma Mostafa (jewelry), Siham and Sarah Albinali of Lurline (ready-to-wear), and Kazna Asker (Franca Sozzani Debut Talent Award)

The prestigious FTA Advisory Board selects four finalists from each category who will be announced by June 2023. The 24 finalists will then be invited to showcase their collection at The FTA Awards Ceremony in Doha. The 2023 FTA Advisory Board Members and judges including coveted fashion designers, stylists, and journalists comprise the judging panel who selects the winners. You can expect fashion powerhouse akin to previous year’s judging panel that included notable figures in the fashion field such as Pierpaolo Piccioli Creative Director of Valentino, Olivier Rousteing Creative Director of Balmain, Remo Ruffini CEO of Moncler, Fashion Designer Zuhair Murad, and many more.
