Hermes Spring/Summer 2022 Preview in Abu Dhabi

On Saturday 2nd of October, our team was invited to an exclusive preview of the latest Hermès collection in a secret location in the heart of Abu Dhabi. The city was one of only five in the world that had been chosen to host an event in honour of the new spring/summer 2022 collection.

Guests received Hermès goodie bags ahead of the show, with an invitation and book dedicated to the collection. As everyone rolled up in their Teslas and Mercedes’ – courtesy of Hermes – it seemed as though the Parisian luxury house was taking us to a stranded location. Much to our surprise, we were greeted by hosts and hostesses at the entrance of a private estate, that was metres away from the Mediterranean Sea. A parquet floor was built for the audience to watch the live streaming of the show, where the boiling atmosphere was opposed by the built-in air-conditioning under each and every seat.

The atmosphere was made all the better by the view of the sun reflecting on the calm sea, and just when we didn’t think it would get any better, we were greeted with cocktails and mocktails in a stunning reception. As we made our way to the main stage, the show began playing from a large screen with the sound of the waves and music blending together into the perfect melody.

Leather dominated the runway, as it usually does at Hermès, and feminine silhouettes were made more powerful with impeccable tailoring and a stunning print. After the preview of the show was over, the guests entered a second reception where the clothes were flown in from Paris for us to enjoy. Models strutted across the room whist guests roamed around, appreciating each and every piece in sight.

After the exclusive look at the collection, guests were invited to enjoy hors d’oeuvres whilst basking under the sunset. The ambience of the entire day was nothing short of ethereal.
