In the past few days, we’ve seen unexpected collaborations such as the Tiffany & Co. x Supreme, NYX Professional Makeup x Netflix ‘La Casa de Papel’, and Fendi x SKIMS. The world can’t seem to get enough of collaborations and there’s another rising star that has been unveiled over the weekend.

Gucci and Xbox have taken to Twitter to tease an upcoming collaboration with the latter Tweeting, ‘Saying ‘GG’ at the end of every game will never go out of fashion,’ referring to ‘good game,’ which is often said by gamers while also hinting at a collaboration with the Double G brand.

This isn’t the first time Gucci is venturing into the world of gaming either. The Italian luxury label has previously worked with Roblox, Pokémon Go, Tennis Clash, and 100Thieves. The most recent collaboration was with 100 Thieves, a renowned lifestyle and gaming organisation, in early 2021 to bring the Gucci x 100 Thieves collection.

On the other hand, Microsoft’s Xbox also partnered with Adidas in 2021 to launch a limited-edition sneaker. The collaboration was in celebration of Xbox’s 20 year anniversary since the release of its original console.

Founder and CEO of 100 Thieves, Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag, earlier shared the first look of the soon-to-release Gucci and Xbox collection on his social media account featuring the two brand labels in Xbox’s signature green shade.

To continue the celebration of Xbox’s 20-year milestone, Gucci teamed up with Xbox to create 100 numbered Xbox Series X sets. The collection includes two Customized Xbox Wireless Controllers, an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, a Gucci suitcase with Xbox emblazoned on, and a Laser-Cut Monogram Motif:

“An evolution of the original Gucci Rhombi design from the ’30s, the GG pattern becomes a wordplay—not only representing Guccio Gucci’s initials but also the gaming phrase ‘Good Game.’,” read the website. “A calling card of the House, GG enters the world of e-Sports with ‘XBOX’ and ‘GOOD GAME’ prints. The design defines a hard carry case with blue and red stripes—recalling vintage luggage in a subtle reference to the House’s origins.”

The Gucci x Xbox collection is set to release on November 17th and is priced at $10,000 (36,728 AED)
