Supermodel Gigi Hadid has stepped outside of her runway modelling role to co-host the much-loved Netflix show, Next in Fashion. The show is making a big return to our screens for a second season after its debut in 2020. Gigi will be presenting alongside stylist Tan France and is taking over from the previous host and celebrated fashion guru Alexa Chung. Those will be some very big shoes to fill.

On the contrary, Gigi is no stranger to the fashion design world with plenty of expertise to bring to the table and already has acquired some practice, featuring as a guest judge on Project Runway in 2021. The first season of Next In Fashion included iconic designers such as Prabal Gurung, Tommy Hilfiger, Kerby Jean-Raymond, Christopher Kane, Phillip Lim and Monique Lhuillier as the guest judges.

Gigi and Tan have recently taken to their socials to announce the open casting application for the show, and are encouraging designers of all levels to take the plunge and just go for it. The series will feature aspiring fashion designers up against each other in weekly competitions, designing for the winning title. The winners of the series will receive a magnificent prize fund of $250,000 and the chance of a lifetime to create a premier collection with the luxury retailer Net-A-Porter.

Previously, Netflix announced that the show would not return after the first season, despite the fact it was a huge hit with millions of fans. Therefore, this shocking revelation that the show is making a comeback, with none other than Gigi Hadid who has graced catwalks and magazine covers from around the world, has come as a huge, yet pleasant surprise to us all. Season 2 dates are yet to be announced but are expected after the castings. We just cannot wait to watch this iconic duo in action and to be mesmerised once again by the talent, skill and style of the latest contestants.
