Over the past two months, we’ve seen the biggest fashion houses showcase their collections in New York, Milan, and Paris. And now, we get to experience Arab Fashion Week in the Middle East’s fashion capital, Dubai, from October 24th to 28th. On the 24th of October, we get to witness the return of the Fashion Icon Awards, with an exclusive pink carpet gala dinner. Influencers, celebrities and media are expected to attend this iconic event.  Arab Fashion Week (AFW), the official fashion week for the Middle East, is a part of the main four fashions weeks on the global fashion calendar. This October, we get to witness the spring/summer 2022 collections from designers such as Nohama, Zeena Zaki, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Zaid Farouki and many more.

Since 2015, Dubai has been home to AFW, showcasing some of the best designers the UAE has to offer. This year, after holding the last four fashion weeks digitally, AFW will be held in the heart of Dubai at the Dubai Fashion District.

Arab Fashion Week also is the only fashion platform worldwide to promote ‘ready-couture’ collections. Also known as ‘demi couture’ or ‘pret-a-couture’, buyers can directly purchase designs that can be customised. This exclusive feature, helps the economic model for Middle Eastern fashion, lessening mass production. Ready-couture promotes social and environmental awareness in the industry, which the Arab Fashion Council heavily encourages.

Who else better to bridge the fashion worlds together than the national airline of the UAE, Etihad Airways. This year, Etihad will be an official partner of AFW, even introducing special fares and discounts to invitees of AFW.

Amina Taher, senior vice president of brand, marketing and sponsorship, commented on the airline’s enthusiasm towards the official partnership.

“We are excited to be partnering with Arab Fashion Week to support the growth of the fashion and creative scene in our home, the UAE. We’re proud to nurture the talent on our doorstep while bringing the world to see what the UAE fashion scene has to offer. As an airline with a network spanning the world’s fashion capitals from London, Paris and Milan, to New York, Mumbai and Sydney, we are perfectly placed to unite the world’s fashion industry.”

Stay tuned for our updates on everything happening with Arab Fashion Week.
