Eva Mendes has debuted a fresh new hair look, just in time for the holidays – and we must say, it’s fittingly festive. The star revealed a new hair hue on her Instagram over the Christmas break, revealing that her hairstylist Richi Grisillo took her signature honeyed locks to a soft shade of red.
In a new post shared to her Instagram page, the actor can be seen in a video rocking the new colour over the holidays – and it’s perhaps the most dramatic transformation we’ve seen from the star. Addressing the major hair change, Mendes casually wrote, “Oh, and I went red. Gracias to @richi_grisillo for this. Lo adoro.”
While it’s not clear how Mendes spent the festive period, it’s probably safe to say that she enjoyed some time with long-term partner (and rumoured husband) Ryan Gosling and their children. However the star did share her thoughts on the Christmas season, offering her followers some comfort during what can be a difficult time.
“Whatever you celebrate or don’t celebrate, if you’re with friends and family or flying solo, I’m sending you loads of love during this time. I know how hard it can be for some,” Mendes wrote. “Don’t let Instagram trick you – we’re all dealing with our own sh*t. Some more extreme, of course, but we’re all in this madness together.”
She continued, “For me personally, I don’t care much for acting “merry” or “happy “ – as long as I stay grateful I’ll let myself feel all the feels that come up. I won’t torture others with them but I won’t hide them either.”
Holidays or not, we’re huge fans of this new look for Mendes.
