A world-class destination for shopping, leisure, and entertainment, The Dubai Mall – already the second-largest shopping mall in the world – is set to undergo a glamorous transformation.
This week, Emirati real estate developer, Emaar Properties, announced a colossal expansion of the palatial fashion hub, comprising of Dhs1.5 billion worth of renovations.
“The new Dubai Mall expansion is a great addition to one of the most visited sites in the world. We extend our gratitude to our esteemed guests and loyal customers, as well as our partners, retailers, and government authorities for their unwavering support,” said Mohamed Alabbar, founder of Emaar Properties.
“This expansion reflects Dubai’s ambitious vision to remain at the forefront of global innovation and culture, further solidifying our city’s position as a top global destination,” he added.

Currently, The Dubai Mall is a sprawling complex covering an area of over 3.8 million square feet, and features nearly 200 restaurants and over 1200 retail stores. It’s also home to exceptional amenities including an Olympic-sized ice rink, an aquarium and underwater zoo, a bustling Fashion Avenue with over 80 designer stores, and the renowned Dubai Fountains.
Securing the title of ‘the most visited place on earth’ in 2023, the mall has been subject to a number of renovations since its establishment in 2008, including the Zabeel project in 2019, and the opening of China Town in March last year.
Now, Dubai Mall’s latest expansion promises 240 new luxury stores and a host of additional food and beverage outlets.
While there is currently no predicted date for completion, construction is set to begin imminently, and shoppers will soon get to indulge in an even more expansive retail shopping experience.
