As designers continue to disrupt the fashion scene at Dubai Fashion Week, its attendees are proving that style also belongs to the audience. From extravagant to understated, to say the outfits spotted so far are serving up variety would be a serious understatement. Whilst 90s Y2K has reigned supreme, others have leaned towards luxurious ensembles and elegant outfits to inspire our next date night look.

Discover some of GRAZIA’s favourite looks spotted at the shows below and see how you can rock the trends from Dubai Fashion Week.

Denim on Denim on Denim on… you guessed it

From oversized bombers to cinching light wash corsets and wide-legged low rises, denim is boldly making its mark at Dubai Fashion Week. Attendees are reinventing the ways in which the fabric is understood, dressing it up with staple metallic accessories or exuding effortlessness with unbuttoned shirts. Cop the double denim look as an easy way to look coordinated but cool.

Boots Galore

A pointed knee-high or a high-energy chunky pair, when it comes to boots, it’s whatever floats your boat. Here to stay and make an impact, statement boots will capture the attention of a room before you enter. So, don’t play it safe – have fun and be daring with your boots this season.

Cream Abayas

An air of elegance followed those wearing cream or beige abayas, with attendees floating through the shows exuding sophistication. Complementing all skin tones and hair colours, these light fabrics emitted light as the delicate folds of fabric swayed with movement under the lights. If you’re looking for a way to add an instant hit of luxury to your wardrobe, a cream abaya is it.

A pop of red

Add some vibrancy to an all-black outfit with a pop of red. Adding colour can be daunting, especially for those with minimalist wardrobes, but Dubai Fashion Week event-goers found a simple and chic way to incorporate colour – by adding a single piece of clothing or accessory that’s unapologetically and loudly red. Maybe tomato girl summer was onto something after all.

Oversized Blazers

Did you just come back from your desk-bound 9-5 job or from a glamorous evening on a yacht? Either way, an oversized blazer can be “sandwiched” to add edge and to elevate any ensemble. While Blazers are a traditionally office-coded piece, the oversized element gives it an effortless coolness for a modern take on the tailored piece.

As the week continues and global designers descend on Dubai, the UAE’s fashion scene continues to delight and surprise us. Stay tuned for more BTS looks, trend insights and collection breakdowns…
