Installation | Shape of Light 

Feel serenity wash over you at Shuster and Moseley’s installation: Shape of Light. Shuster and Moseley is a conceptual art studio that paired with ESPACE, a design consultancy in Dubai, to render a cerebral installation that combines design and art for Dubai Design Week 2021. The two organizations created this immersive experience using large crystal sculptures meant to represent the opening of one’s consciousness. Talk | Translating the Fictive

Translating the Fictive is a conversation hosted by the international architectural firm RMJM that will take place on the 9th of October at 7 PM in the Dubai Design District. The conversation reconceptualises the architect as a narrator communicating with the local traditions and terrains of the areas they are building in versus a designer who is building on top of it. Featured talks like this, in addition to the complimentary panels offered, is what makes the Dubai Design Week so innovative.

Pop-Up | The Marketplace

Discover local and emerging artists and small businesses at The Marketplace in the Dubai Design District from Saturday the 12th to Sunday the 13th of October. You can stop by for a bite to eat in one of the stalls or take home quality handcrafted items from various local businesses.

Tour | Emirates Architecture Open at Mosque of Light

Take a tour of the Mosque of Light on Saturday, October 13th at Al Quoz. While attending the tour you will be guided through the modern mosque and shown how the Dabbagh Architect group used the elements of design to enhance the space for optimal worship.

Workshop | Cut-Out Fashion

Join the Sharabassy Built Environment Studio in Dubai’s Design District for the Cut-Out Fashion workshop on Wednesday, the 10th of October. Much like the other workshops offered at Dubai Design Week, the activity focuses on sustainable design practices. In this design thinking workshop, you’ll be taking a crash course in upcycling by creating a new garment out of your existing clothing.
