Quirky novelty bags are all the rage for 2024 if you haven’t heard.
For their Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Louis Vuitton debuted what seems to be a modern twist on an old-fashioned lunch bag. Just last year we saw the release of the Saint Laurent takeaway box bag that had the fashion world in a frenzy and this year we see the resurgence of yet another food carrier, further solidifying that the intertwined themes of fashion and food are here to stay.
Under Pharell William’s stewardship, the fashion house claimed new territories with the French Maison’s designs, shows and overall aesthetics whilst still continuing to honour the late Virgil Abloh’s legacy. In June 2023, the American record producer turned creative director debuted his first-ever collection with the brand in a monumental manner. He managed to shut down the Pont Neuf and decked it in the brand’s signature LV gold Damier as the models and celebrities alike strutted down with their best stuff.
The collection featured a lot of the brand’s classic designs and also displayed a gentle nod to the fashion visionary Virgil Abloh. The collection featured what seemed to be Minecraft’s symbolic motif of pixelated patterns splattered across suits, bags and luggage trunks, which garnered a lot of attention from media and fashion fanatics.
Another design that particularly stood out and gained quite the traction in the past few days was Louis Vuitton’s sandwich bag.
The bag comprises of a tan and blue colour scheme that closely resembles Louis Vuitton’s shopping bags. The spacious bag consists of two smaller compartments, a magnetic leather fastening and the brand’s name embellished across the accessory with a folded top detail that mimics the actions of a paper bag.
