Another month, another slew of beauty products landing on the beauty desk. If you find keeping up with what’s hot (and what’s not) in the world of beauty as impossible as keeping up with Leonardo DiCaprio’s love life, then don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. From the worlds of makeup, skincare, haircare and beyond, I’ve rigorously put the best new products through their paces to see what really deserves pride of place on a Beauty Editor’s vanity. Hey, it’s a hard job, but someone has to do it. From glow-getting makeup to hair-transforming treatments and the best bronzing drops in the business, these are the best new beauty products to stock up on this month. You’re welcome.
Guerlain
Beachy waves, sun-kissed hair and mermaid manes? Sign me up. Crispy, dry, frazzled locks? No thank you. It’s safe to say summer’s wreaked havoc on my hair, which is just one of the reasons why I’m obsessed with Guerlain’s luxurious new mask. Boasting not one but two nourishing formulas (a creamy balm and a honeyed gel) powered by 95% naturally derived ingredients in a clever double-tube, it’s packed with repairing, hyrdating and strengthening actives to transform strands in seconds. Plus it doesn’t weigh locks down and instead boosts volume and thickness. Which, when you have about four hairs on your head, is a game-changer. Don’t even get me started on its gorgeous honey scent. Heaven.
Whind
One thing I am clinging to from summer is my post-vacation glow. Which, given you could roast a chicken on the pavement outside right now, is proving rather hard to maintain. Enter: Whind’s new bronzing drops. Brimming with hydrating, glow-giving ingredients including hyaluronic acid, glycerin, marshmallow extract, caramel and erythrulose (a botanical alternative to DHA), its serum-like formula can be massaged directly into skin or added to skincare for an instant gorgeous glow. You can totally tailor your tan too – so if you just want a subtle hint of colour, only use a drop or two, or add more to increase intensity. It’s that summer holiday glow, bottled.
makeup by mario
To say I’m slightly in love with Mario Dedivanovic would be an understatement. I mean the guy’s a makeup genius, his products are incredible and just look at that face. So, naturally, I’m also slightly in love with his new SurrealSkin Foundation. It glides onto skin like silk and imparts instant luminosity for the ultimate “no makeup makeup look”. Thanks to whizzy MoistureGrip technology, it hydrates for 12 hours and is easily buildable if you want a little more coverage. The man himself calls it his “complexion masterpiece”, which says it all.
Minimalist
You don’t have to dish out the dirhams to invest in good skincare, as this hydrating cleanser from Minimalist perfectly proves. Fragrance-free and non-comedogenic, it’s enhanced with multiple humectants to restore moisture levels whilst gently cleansing away daily dirt and grime. Thanks to its skin-identical pH of 5.5, it does so without stripping the skin (read: no dryness) too. Combining HA, moisture-balancing wheat protein, vitamin B5 and a combination of glycerin-powered boosters, skin feels soft, smooth and perfectly plump. It will actually make you look forward to washing your face. Promise.
Elizabeth Arden
Of course, I always follow my cleanser with a toner, and the latest addition to my bathroom shelf is Elizabeth Arden’s white tea offering. Its gentle bi-phase, alcohol-free formula is totally vegan and natural and is enriched with skin-loving ingredients such as watermelon, lentil fruit and apple extracts to gently nourish and soothe stressed, tired skin. There’s also EGCG, an active molecule found in white tea, to help reinforce collagen levels. All with antioxidant protection to boot. Simply sweep over cleansed skin and let it work its magic.
Charlotte Tilbury
GLOWISH
Trust Huda Kattan to go and create the cutest mini eyeshadow palettes that aren’t just seriously pretty and pigmented, but that are designed to enhance your eye colour too. All with a mix of finishes, obv. I’m talking creamy mattes and soft, stunning shimmers that you can mix, match and blend for a gorgeous eye makeup look. Did I mention they’re naturally derived too? If, like me, you have blue eyes, go for the pretty peachy hues from the ‘Clay’ palette. For green and hazel eyes, the purple tones of ‘Amethyst’ will make your peepers pop, and brown and darker eyes will stun with the green tones of ‘Moss’.
Eideal
Last, but by no means least, on the best new beauty products list is this hairbrush from Eideal. Okay, I know what you’re probably thinking. A hairbrush. How exciting. Well, this is no ordinary hairbrush. It’s, quite possibly, the most incredible detangling tool I’ve ever tried. Using innovative nylon flex bristles, it glides through even the toughest of knots to smooth strands while minimising cuticle damage, split ends and breakage. All with practically no effort or tugging. I won’t leave the house without it.
