We need to talk about Bella Hadid’s new baby bangs. When it comes to my hair, I’ve learned a few key lessons over the years – box dye is not your friend, your natural-born colour might be boring but it’s also the most flattering, and just because you can cut your hair doesn’t mean you should. Even when you’re inspired by the stylish new chop a celebrity just got – especially when when you’re inspired by the stylish new chop a celebrity just got.

But Bella Hadid‘s new baby bangs are giving me pause on my strict personal policy. The supermodel (very important to note) recently debuted a choppy fringe, which she’s been wearing layered and loose for several weeks. But on a night out at Boom Boom Room in New York City for IMG Vice President Luiz Mattos’ 50th birthday, Hadid’s hair had adopted a new style – a blunt micro-fringe.

While it was likely created with the help of a hair piece, the end result was seamless – a sleek, boldly blunt fringe that finished at that most controversial region of the forehead. Baby bangs have long been criticised for their placement, since many hairstylists argue that a cut several inches above the eyebrow is flattering to almost nobody. But on Hadid, the look is… well, tempting.

Most women will find themselves toying with the idea of bangs at some stage in their life, many of which make impulsive decisions they later regret. I’ve had my fair share, but it’s been many years since I’ve been so enticed by the idea of going the chop – and while Hadid’s baby bangs make a convincing case, it’s likely a style best saved for those with similarly angelic bone structure (which is obviously the secret to pulling off anything).

Hadid has clearly been enjoying her new look, even donning a red and platinum wig with a razor-sharp fringe for her entrance into the metaverse. The model is set to release her first NFT drop, called CY-B3LLA, in which holders will be blessed to observe Hadid’s new bangs IRL – now that’s a fringe benefit (sorry).
