Professor Augustinus Bader never thought he’d be an influential force in the world of beauty. He tells us he quite accidentally became a skinfluencer and is still figuring out what that title actually means. Over a recent chat with Professor Bader about his self-named skincare brand, Augustinus Bader, and we learned what makes his products so effective and why every woman is eager to get their hands on them.
Professor Bader’s passion for burn wound treatment research spans throughout his career. With a background in biomedical science and medicine, he’s become globally recognized and renowned as one of the foremost experts in the field of stem cell biology and regenerative medicine. Throughout his career, he’s researched and developed state of the art formulas based on activating the body’s own abilities to self-heal. In 2008, Professor Bader took his same philosophy on wound healing and applied it to skincare, creating products that reawaken cells that become dormant due to aging. He describes his skincare formulas as being a “toolbox” for the skin to take what it needs to restore itself to it’s optimal level (and appearance).
Customised ingredients
When asked what makes his skincare formulas stand out from the rest, Professor Bader mentions his proprietary complex, Trigger Factor Complex (TFC8). He developed this ingredient when he created a specialised wound gel that healed wound traumas without needing surgery or skin grafts. TFC8 is composed of natural amino acids, high-grade vitamins, and synthesized molecules naturally found in skin. It supports the skin’s own ability for renewal and helps to kickstart, nourish, and protect those processes. Essentially, he’s created ingredients that are so high-tech, they’re able to cutomise your skin’s needs.
Sustainably Focused
If we couldn’t be more impressed, the Augustinus Bader skincare line is eco-focused as well. He is quoted as saying, “Our skin is a reflection of our health. In order to have health, we need clean air, clean water, and a non-toxic environment. Sustainability should be a priority for individuals and companies; this is something we cannot ignore any longer.” The formulas are made with sustainably sourced ingredient and packaged in recycable containers. To further reduce environmental impact, clean, bio-engineered actives are used where possible. According to the Augustinus Bader website, they’re also “free of parabens, fragrance, SLS, SLES, and DEA, heavy metals, talc, petrolatum/paraffin/mineral oil, and do not contain unnecessary preservatives, solvents, and emulsifiers.”
The Results
With products powered by intense research, we’re not surprised to say that Augustinus Bader skincare actually works. We love the transparency on the Augustinus Bader website that showcases real results in real time. Within one month of using Augustinus Bader skincare, there is a noticeable reduction in the appearance of fine-lines and wrinkles, redness, hyperpigmentation, cellulite, and stretchmarks as well as visibly reducing the damage caused by external stressors.
Try this first
The Rich Cream (starting at Dhs366, Bloomingdales) is Augustinus Bader’s OG product and in our opinion, led this line to worldwide recognition. It’s loaded with Professor Bader’s proprietary ingredient, TFC8, that helps skin restore and rejuvenate itself to it’s optimal level. It also contains brightening vitamin C, skin soothing aloe vera, and fortifying amino acids.
We love The Body Oil (Dhs409, Bloomingdales) that nourishes our skin and regenerates it too. This is the perfect treat for skin that’s dry and dehydrated from the Dubai climate. After one month of using The Body Oil, our skin feels firmer and looks more youthful.
We’re impressed by Augustinus Bader and his eponymous skincare brand. He’s the type of beauty influencer that is more than welcome in our circle.
