Earlier this month, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna welcomed their first child. The baby boy and new mother are reportedly doing well with the famous couple now adjusting to life as parents. In his first interview since the delivery, A$AP Rocky has reflected on how he hopes to raise his children (yes, plural) with the pop star.
“I hope to raise open-minded children. Not people who discriminate,” the 33-year-old told Dazed this week. “And I’m not trying to describe a saint, but realistically, I just want a cool child with cool parents. Things like diversity and versatility are important, and they’ll be embedded in the household.”
Speaking of cool parents, the beauty mogul has admitted in the past that she will be taking inspiration from The Real Housewives franchise for parenting tips. Before you panic, she is specifically looking to Heather Dubrow from the Real Housewives of Orange County who, “is so chic while being a mum.”
“Just love the way that she just allows her kids to be who they are. And that’s really inspiring to me,” she told ELLE.
The couple, who first romantically linked in 2020, have not confirmed the name of their baby yet. Despite letting us believe she was having a girl – thanks to that amazing pink Chanel puffer coat – even the pop star didn’t know the sex of her baby before birth, opting out of a gender reveal party.
“I asked my doctor: Is something wrong with me for not wanting this? Because people keep asking me,” she reflected in an earlier cover interview. “Am I a bad mum? When we’re ready to tell the world, we’ll just tell them.”
