Paris Fashion Week is in full swing, with exquisite ready-to-wear designs following suit. Arab designers, like Tony Ward, Rami Al Ali, and Georges Hobeika, are having a comeback season following Couture Week in Paris last January. This season, it seems all three have released notably fantasy-forward collections. Liquid metal fabric was one of the primary throughlines throughout each of the collections by Arab designers at Paris Fashion Week, which suggests its capacity to act as a physical manifestation of fantasy. Ahead, discover the jaw-dropping collections by Arab designers at Paris Fashion Week this season.

Rami Al Ali

Syrian-born designer Rami Al Ali debuted his new line during Paris Fashion Week this season, revealing his 35-piece collection with an exquisite lookbook featuring ultra-feminine designs. For this new collection, the haute couture designer used a combination of his aesthetic principles with those of symbolist painter Gustav Klimt. The balance of the two resulted in a highly-stylised collection of women’s ready-to-wear clothing for autumn-winter 2023.

Tony Ward

Lebanese-Italian couture designer Tony Ward was inspired by the female fantasy for his Autumn-Winter 2023/24 ready-to-wear, titled “Her Midnight Garden.” This creative collection invokes NOUN, with satin and crystal-encrusted fabrics rendered into elegant drapery. From floral patterns to corset silhouettes, Tony Ward’s new collection is a whimsical take on a feminine fantasy.

MAISON GEORGES HOBEIKA

Lebanese fashion designer Georges Hobeika showcased his ready-to-wear collection for Autumn 2023 at Paris Fashion Week this season, unveiling ultra-stylish designs underpinned by dark romance. The haute couture designer took inspiration from fairytales to create his new collection, citing the cult television show True Blood as a reference for the collection’s dark and alluring look. This collection veers from the Maison’s consistently cheerful designs while also incorporating its most-loved design signatures, like the colour orchid and its couture know-how. Ultimately, the designer was able to successfully switch it up this season while still delivering on what we’ve come to expect from the brand.
