Euphoria star Angus Cloud has died at the age of 25, according to reports by TMZ.

The actor, best known for playing Fezco in the HBO drama series, sadly passed away at his family’s home in Oakland, California, per the outlet.

Cloud’s family released a statement to TMZ, writing, “It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.”

While a cause of death is yet to be revealed, his family acknowledged how he was struggling with the recent passing of his father. “Last week, he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” they wrote. “Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

The family added their wishes for his memory to be positive. “We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

Angus Cloud was born in Oakland, California, on July 10, 1998. Though he still resides there, he has a lot of family in Ireland. The eldest of his siblings to a brother and younger twin sisters, he attended the School of Production Design at Oakland School for the Arts, where he was actually a classmate of his soon-to-be Euphoria co-star Zendaya.

Though anyone who watched him playing the big-hearted Fezco might’ve thought otherwise, Cloud didn’t get a regular start in Hollywood. While working at Woodland restaurant in Brooklyn, New York, he was scouted by Euphoria casting director Jennifer Venditti, whom he initially thought was trying to scam him—fair enough.

Characterised by a scar on his head, the actor revealed it was a result of an accident. In 2013, the then 15-year-old was walking by himself in the dark after breaking off from a group of friends when he accidentally fell into a construction pit. “I broke my skull on Friday the 13th,” he said.
