With recent catastrophes in Gaza, all eyes are on Rafah’s turbulent experiences. The conflict from Israel’s bombardment has resulted in over 35,000 fatalities many of which are women and children.

With that, Palestine needs all the support it can get.

Donation drives in the United Arab Emirates remain steadfast and consistent, eagerly seeking more contributions to aid the innocent civilians of the Gaza Strip.

Operation Olive Branch

Operation Olive Branch is a global grassroots movement to support families in Palestine. From raising money to providing key information from what’s happening on the ground, Operation Olive Branch provides a slew of different options for the public to be able to provide aid.

‘Tarahum – For Gaza’ Emirates Red Crescent (ERC)

ERC’s official donation drive is available across all seven Emirates. For monetary support, you can opt for a monthly or daily donation of AED 250 and above, providing food baskets to civilians in need.

At selected drop-off points you can also send an array of items including:

Following the upcoming Eid in June 2024, the ERC also launched another Gaza initiative. Helping those in need, a donation of Dhs50 will be focused on sending Eid clothes, while a donation of Dhs250 will contribute to Eid food care packages.

‘Gaza in our hearts’ Dubai Cares

Dubai Cares has launched a series of local and regional initiatives, including the “Gaza In Our Hearts” campaign, which encompasses several other projects such as “Unity for Gaza: Our Support, Their Strength,” “Tennis For Gaza,” and “Gaza Aid Initiative: Your Support Matters,” among others.

Originally started for the Holy Month of Ramadan, these initiatives are ongoing and actively seeking support for donations.

The relief campaign will be able to distribute:

• Hot meals: Across Anera’s five existing community kitchens which can feed over 100,000 civilians, a Dhs30 donation can provide 30 meals
• Foot baskets: Anera will distribute food baskets which include natural produce enough for 44 meals. Distribution will be done in collaboration with local authorities. Every Dhs60 can provide 1 food basket
• Emergency shelter tents: Dubai Cares can provide shelter tents for every Dhs1,650 donation.

‘Palestine Emergency’ MATW Project

For those looking for online donations, the MATW Project offers an array of donation initiatives such as the following:

UNICEF GULF

UNICEF has responded to global crises around the globe which include Palestine, Sudan, Congo, and Syria.

With donations starting from Dhs250, you can help children who are at risk of starvation. Below you can find the items that are sent out with the donations:

• Safe water
• Vaccines

Palestine Children Relief Fund

Based in the USA founded by Steve Sosebee, they provide free humanitarian services across the Middle East.

By donating at least Dhs90 or any generous amount, the PCRF can provide children welfare ranging from mental health distress, as well as receiving food packages and health checkups in Rafah.

Supported by celebrities such as Bella Hadid, Palestinian twin sisters Simi & Haze, and Dubai’s first Emirati female film director Nayla Al Khaja.

United Nations Relief and Works Agency

If you decide to contribute to the cause online, you can do so via the UNRWA. Following the Sadaqqah and Zakat ideology, donations can start from $80 (Dhs290) and forward, you will provide a myriad of charitable donations.
