In a social media post prior to the 2022 Grammys, Halsey revealed that they underwent surgery to treat endometriosis just three days ago before walking the red carpet. The pop star arrived to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight wearing a vampy Pressiat gown, but warned their fans and fellow guests that they might be feeling a little “fragile”.

“The last time I attended the Grammys was 2017 and it was 3 days after I had my first Endometriosis surgery,” they said alongside a selfie in a hospital gown. “I walked the carpet with my stitches still in 😅 As luck would have it, I’m attending tomorrow for the first time in years and I had surgery again (you guessed it) 3 days ago. Only posting this to say, if you see me be gentle lol I’m fragile. Fragile but excited 🙂 🤍”

In 2017, the “Closer” singer attended the annual awards ceremony in royal blue parachute pants and a matching jacket. “I just didn’t want to wear a dress. Why not hit ’em with a silk number,” the singer said on the red carpet at the time. “I wanted to do something that was very sexy and androgynous.”

The star has long been open about her struggle with endometriosis. For the unacquainted, the condition is a disorder in which tissue that normally lines the uterus grows outside the uterus. “Today I braved multiple terrifying surgeries,” they wrote in 2017 social media post. “The most important of which being the surgery that would hopefully treat my endometriosis. For those of you who have followed this battle of mine or who may suffer with it yourself, you know the extremes to which it can be mentally exhausting and physically painful.”

Halsey recently gave birth to their first child.
