Ever the beauty chameleon, Halsey has seemingly decided to see out the end of the year in their trademark colourful fashion. The singer recently revealed an entirely new hair look, which saw them switch out their signature raven pixie crop for a bright orange locks.

Posting a picture of their new hair to Instagram, Halsey captioned the snap, “Extra Special Flavour”. The fiery new hue stood out alongside their similarly striking makeup, which featured technicolour eyeshadow, XXL lashes, neatly groomed arches and a glossy apricot point.

Halsey’s new long, liquid-like copper locks came with a mesh plaid one-piece, which featured silk material woven throughout. The star continued the plaid theme all the way through to their tights, completing the loud, top-to-toe ensemble.

The new hair stretched all the way down Halsey’s back and past their waist, with the orange-soda hue blending out seamlessly from some visible shadow through the roots. It looked entirely natural, but according to the singer’s hairstylist, it was in fact the work of a wig – and look, we’re a little disappointed but still obsessed nonetheless.

Adding extra detail to the eyes was a hint of graphic white eyeliner, which had been painted in eye-catching half-moon shapes around the outer corners of Halsey’s eyes. The cosmetic culprit responsible is the Without Me singer’s own beauty brand About Face, which launched earlier this year.

As the brand detailed on Instagram, the rainbow look came courtesy of About Face’s Matte Fluid Eye Paints in White Noise, Lost Unfound, Incoming, Everything Now and Shadowstick in Butterfly Collective.

As a huge fan of expressive beauty looks, Halsey launched their own makeup brand to encourage others to embrace their creativity through cosmetics. “Makeup is an art and art is about happy accidents, not any one ideal of perfection,” she said of About Face.

“I always feel the most free when I am creating looks without following any rules,” she added. “The beauty industry has norms, but I want to encourage people to challenge those standards and allow things to be imperfect and fun.”

We’d say their latest look more than fits the bill.
