Last night, on the eve of Paris Couture Week, Belgian designer Pieter Mulier, debuted his first collection for Alaia WS22. The Alaia runway makeup looks were created by the queen herself, world-famous British makeup artist, Dame Pat McGrath DBE and bold neutrals reigned supreme. The models wore iconic natural makeup with an unexpected glossy twist.

Skin Is IN!

Enhancing the model’s natural beauty was the focus of the makeup in the Alaia WS22 show. Instead of a heavy look, the makeup base had more of a gentle tint to allow the skin to shine through. The makeup looks featured natural contouring with emphasis placed on accentuating the cheekbones and jawline. Warm flushes in tones of terracotta, golden bronze pinks, and soft beiges grazed the models cheeks. Golden highlights illuminated their cheekbones, chin, forehead, and down the bridge of their nose

The models also had a noticeable sheen to their body. Each models legs, arms, and chest glistened as she walked down the runway with a golden shimmer. The lights reflected off their skin, giving a beautiful, goddess-like glow.

Glossy Eyelids

The focus of the models faces were glossed up eyelids paired with smoky kohl eyeliner and a few coats of mascara. The glass-like reflect was centered mostly on the middle of the eyelid with a pop of glossiness on the inner corners of the eyes. The shades were all neutral and the models all wore colors slightly deeper than their natural skin tones. The eyeliner was slightly smudgy for a mysterious, edgy look.

Neutral Lips

Blurred, neutral lips prettied up the Alaia WS22 pouts. Ranging from barely-there nudes to café au lait and onto dark brown, the models’ lip shades complemented their glossy eyelids. The lips all looked diffused and with a soft-matte finish.
