When it comes to a Greek getaway, the first destinations that spring to mind are island-hopping in the Cyclades or an exploration of Athens – both intriguing and both bucket-list worthy, of course. But why not try looking to the west of the capital city on the mainland?
There lies Costa Navarino, which has quietly become one of the most compelling places to visit in Greece. In this vast, sustainably minded stretch of the southwest Peloponnese, you’ll find pinecovered hills paired with some of the country’s most pristine coastline. There’s also a sharpened culinary focus at the W Costa Navarino for a second year running, following the arrival of Executive Chef Nikos Billis in 2025. The culinary maestro brings a philosophy of locality and seasonality to the resort across its dining portfolio. Take Parelía, the resort’s signature beach club, which puts an emphasis on sharing plates built around Messenian produce. Then there’s Piqantro Iberica, over at Navarino Hills, which brings a contemporary Mediterranean grill experience where Iberian technique meets local ingredients, while W Lounge keeps things easy and all-day, its refined comfort food paired with cocktails from guest mixologists drafted in from Athens’ best bars. There’s also Wet Deck – a W Hotel classic – which brings together guests for laidback mornings all the way through to golden hour.
In line with its dining options, W Costa Navarino is a social hotel at its heart. With an emphasis on music, it offers a slew of daily DJ sets and an original music programme spanning funky house to neo-soul soundtracking everything from pool days to beach club nights. There’s also contemporary art curated by Poka-Yio and LAB12.
Wellness is steered by the AWAY Spa philosophy, which includes signature massages, bespoke body wraps and a variety of detox treatments. This, paired with Green Pepper, a wellness hub of Navarino Bay, sees healthy living and delicious food come together at the W, all sourced from the Messenia region.
