More than just a campaign, it’s a timely reminder for women to take care of themselves and stay healthy through routine check-ups and early screenings. Around the UAE, hospitals and clinics will mark the month with events that educate, inform, engage, and support, many offering free or subsidised screenings for women 40 years and older.

Pink Caravan, UAE
Friends of Cancer Patients’ Pink Caravan has been the UAE’s effective-led cancer awareness and early detection campaign since 2011. Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and HH Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Pink Caravan will be offering free mammogram screening in the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Women aged 40 years and older can receive a free mammogram, while women aged 20 years and older can obtain a free clinical breast exam without an appointment. In addition to the free screening, Pink Caravan will also have community outreach events throughout the UAE in order to encourage education and prevention.

SEHA, The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company
To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) will be offering free mammogram screening at select healthcare centres in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The entirety of October is dedicated to community outreach to raise awareness and offer the opportunity to receive a mammogram. Women aged 40-60 will be eligible for a free mammogram, and breast cancer screenings will be waived for women of all ages. It’s easy to register; simply call SEHA’s call centre at 80050.
