It’s no secret that Manish Malhotra is one of India’s most trailblazing couture designers.
After firmly cementing himself as one of India’s top costume directors and stylists, he went on to launch his eponymous couture line in 2005, which was an instant success. And now, 20 years later, with a Dubai-based flagship boutique in tow and a slew of Hollywood and Bollywood A-listers as part of his clientele, it’s safe to say Manish Malhotra isn’t slowing down anytime soon.
This is evident in his latest collection, entitled INAYA, which was recently unveiled at the Taj Palace in New Delhi with supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio as the muse of the evening.
INAYA isn’t merely a couture collection; it is a reimagining of heritage through a modern lens, where sculptural silhouettes are shaped with intention and illuminated by design. The collection was born from the intimacy of Manish Malhotra’s home and the first sketches during quiet evenings. The collection transforms and redefines after-dark dressing for the modern woman.
However, the standout under the INAYA umbrella is its high jewellery, designed not to adorn, but to hold a conversation with couture. The INAYA High Jewellery line reconsiders the idea of jewellery as part of the garment’s story. The sculptural earcuffs, the dazzling necklaces, and the striking, dramatic chandelier earrings reflect the sculptural shapes of the INAYA collection; each item is an extension of the garment.

In true Manish Malhotra tradition, these are modern heirlooms – to wear, to appreciate, and to pass on and withstand time. The standout pieces within the collection would be the cascading necklaces featuring over 30 carats of tanzanites, along with diamonds and a graceful cascade of pearls, a piece that defintaly that draw the eye, the Wings of Life brooch that glows with over 7 carats of vivid pink sapphires showcasing the balance between structure and softness, and the Whispering Blooms earcuff dazzled in over 1400 diamonds and rubellites. Each is a work of art, rooted in the artisanal tradition tempered with a modern point of view.
The line also includes a sharp, confident jewellery line for menswear that come alive with the vivid hues of tourmalines and rubies, the brilliance of uncut diamonds, and the warm glow of 18k gold.. Defined by masculine precision and strong structural detailing. From the enamelled brooches, diamond-framed collar pins, and buttons steeped in heirloom nostalgia. The accessories remain quiet and subtle, yet they provide a sense of confidence and power in their wear.

The focus of the collection is the brooch – reimagined as the shared language between menswear and womenswear. For women, it becomes a versatile accessory, a beautiful accent in the hair, anchoring a bridal dupatta, embellishing a sari pallu, or sitting quietly on the neckline. For men, the brooch and pin add a modern refinement, perched upon the lapel of a bandhgala or sherwani, or added on to a crisp collar for subtle impact. Each piece is designed to add a personal touch, blending heritage with individuality
The collection has been crafted to exist, to be passed down, and to move from one life stage to the next. It’s a collection of modern heirlooms made for life’s special moments, from intimate ceremonies to unforgettable celebrations.
