While the Fashion Trust Arabia Awards for 2024 have just come to a close, it appears there’s a lot to look forward to in 2025.
Next year, the FTA is set to welcome a guest country into the mix. Enter India.
Fashion Trust Arabia co-chairs Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and visionary Tania Fares were joined by renowned fashion personality Isha Ambani at the 2024 FTA Awards Ceremony to announce India’s designation as the Guest Country for FTA 2025, with support from the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.
The FTA Guest Country Award, introduced in 2021, has previously highlighted Colombia, Turkey, Nigeria, and Spain. In 2025, India will join this prominent list, creating a unique opportunity for a crosscultural exchange of knowledge and expertise.
This partnership will focus on highlighting India’s vibrant textile heritage, artistic legacy, as well as its profound influence on contemporary fashion and the global fashion landscape.

Fashion Trust Arabia (FTA) is a non-profit organisation and the first of its kind in the Arab world, serving as a key platform for emerging designers in the Middle East. It provides designers with financial support, guidance, mentorship, and international recognition.
This initiative aligns perfectly with the values of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC), a multicultural space and institution at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, India. NMACC stands as a hub of creativity and artistic expression, committed to preserving and honouring Indian artistry. With a strong dedication to promoting and celebrating India’s rich artistic heritage, NMACC serves as a platform for emerging talent, showcasing the country’s art, culture, and craftsmanship while fostering meaningful dialogue with global audiences.
Speaking about this collaboration, Tania Fares, Co-Chair of Fashion Trust Arabia, stated, “I am thrilled to welcome India as Fashion Trust Arabia’s Guest Country for 2025 with the support of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. Their commitment to showcasing India’s rich artistic heritage and supporting local talents will ensure this partnership is a tremendous success. Together, we will celebrate India’s remarkable contributions to global fashion!”
More information and the application process opens in January 2025.
