Her Highness Sheikha Mahra bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has shared a public statement of respect about her father, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Taking to Instagram, where the Dubai royal has nearly one million followers, Sheikha Mahra shared an old photograph of herself and her father embracing and hugging alongside a statement praising the Dubai ruler.
“Dear Father,” she began. “Thank you for your support. Thank you for your love.”
The 30-year-old sheikha went on to highlight her father’s accomplishments of inspiring an era of justice for all.
“Thank you for marking an era that justifies that there is justice for everyone,” the Dubai princess said.
She ended the statement saying, “My respect and love, Mahra.”
No specific context for the public statement from Sheikha Mahra to her father was highlighted.
Sheikha Mahra’s “divorce” from Sheikh Mana
The Instagram post about her father comes after Sheikha Mahra announced her divorce from her husband, His Highness Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
The official Instagram account of Sheikha Mahra shared a post on July 16, 2024, announcing her “divorce” from Sheikh Mana in an explosive Instagram post.
Taking to the social media platform where she has over 330k followers, the Emirati princess wrote a short statement posted to her grid appearing to be directed to her husband His Highness Sheikh Mana bin Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum.
The post read: “Dear Husband, As you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you. I divorce, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.”
The pair have unfollowed one another on Instagram and Sheikha Mahra has removed any photos she had with Sheikh Mana from her profile.
The divorce announcement came after the pair wed just over a year ago and six weeks after the royal couple welcomed their first child together.
Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana welcomed their daughter in May 2024.
The announcement of the birth of the royal couple’s daughter was made by Sheikh Mana himself via Instagram on May 2.
