It’s the announcement we’ve all been waiting for: Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially husband and wife. In even more exciting news, J.Lo chose an Arab designer to wear while tying the knot. The couple’s intimate ceremony was held in Las Vegas over the weekend, with photographs of it emerging online hours later. After seeing the images of the beautiful bride flooding our timelines, we couldn’t wait to find out more details about her exquisite dress.
JLo wore a lace, off-the-shoulder gown with a sweetheart neckline for her wedding ceremony. The dress is made by the renowned designer Zuhair Murad. The designer is a favourite of the singer, who often opts for Zuhair Murad dresses on special occasions, and we can see why she went with him for the big day. The dress Lopez selected featured an elegant fishtail train finished with a corseted upper half, perfectly balancing tradition with sensuality.
The bride took a style cue from the film industry’s costume department for her second gown. It’s reported that Lopez upcycled the bridal dress from an “old movie.” Which movie that is is still unknown and has stirred up some speculation from curious JLo fans. For now, all we do know is how dazzling she looked in it.
Of course, the brain behind JLo’s stunning wedding hair look was her trusted hairstylist Chris Appleton. He shared on his Instagram, “Out of all the events and crazy glams we have had, this definitely was the most special”. To our surprise, JLo created her makeup look, which looked absolutely stunning. The singer went for a smokey brown eye look and a neutral, glossy lip.
Only a select few were lucky enough to attend the wedding; among these VIPs were Lopez’s teenage daughter Emme. In her fan newsletter, Jennifer Lopez shared, “Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world. Behind us, two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter’s second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognise us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage.”
