While there has been some standout beauty moments thus far at haute couture week, the face jewels seen at Fendi spring summer ’22 overnight were something else entirely.
The collection hinged heavily on the idea of space travel and science fiction, specifically the Frank Herbert novel turned blockbuster film Dune. And so to compliment the collection, Makeup Director Peter Philips hand-placed tiny Swarovski crystals across each model’s complexion, as if they had descended from some celestial galaxy far, far away.
“Today, in Paris , @mrkimjones showed a strong Fendi Haute Couture Collection set in a futuristic decor, the girls walked fierce and regal! @guido created High Gloss hairdos and for makeup we went for bejewelled faces, nude luminous skin with a brushed up eyebrow and a soft blush. Some pearlescent highlights and randomly placed Swarovski crystals on the face,” — Philips said on Instagram.
The finished product was simple but sparkling — the exact kind of magic we crave from couture week.
As Philips referenced, hair was by none other than Guido Palau. Known for his amazing skills when it comes to shine, shape and texture, it was unsurprising that strands were glossed and shined in a way that left them looking like liquid silk.
Whether tucked neatly behind the ear or swept across by way of a deep side part, it was perfectly in tune with the otherworldly collection.
