A day after the official movie poster was released, the trailer for Wonder Woman is here.

Debuting at Comic Con in California on Saturday, the clip is two-and-a-half minutes of action and drama lead by the film’s powerful female lead, Gal Gadot.

Despite being heavy on guns, blasts and explosions, the trailer does a good job of explaining the story of Wonder Woman, for anyone unfamiliar with the DC character’s background.

It begins with Diana Prince (Gadot) inspecting Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) washed up on a beach. “You’re a man?” she asks him, to which he replies “Yeah, do I not look like one?”

Later, Diana explains to Steve how it’s possible that she’d never met a man before.

“I had no father,” she says to Trevor when he suggests she’d surely at least met her dad. “I was brought to life by Zeus,” she tells him, his still-processing-this-information response being the comically understated “Well, that’s neat.”

We also get to see Prince, AKA Wonder Woman using her Lasso of Truth and badass combat skills to take out a room of soldiers in a World War 1 battle scene.

Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins and slated for release on June 2, 2017.
